CJ Spiller Injury: Updates on Saints Star’s Knee and Return
New Orleans opens the regular season on September 13 against the Arizona Cardinals.
New Orleans Saints running back C.J. Spiller (28) makes a catch during Saints training camp at the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia on Monday, August 10, 2015. Spiller recently had knee/leg surgery and is rehabbing some type of injury. The report comes after photos surfaced of Spiller in Pensacola with crutches. Orthopedic surgeon James Andrews has an office in that area.
He missed a scrimmage last Friday and Thursday’s preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Absolutely nothing about Spiller’s injury has been confirmed so at this point, everything is speculation.
Mark Ingram remains established as the team’s starter, but with Spiller sidelined, the likes of Tim Hightower and Marcus Murphy will see extra work and a chance to impress, while Khiry Robinson will also see more snaps.
The former first round pick has 3,321 career rushing yards and 12 career rushing touchdowns.
