Clark County job market continues to improve
In November 2015, the comparable figures were 439 jobless persons out of a labor force of 7,486 and 7,047 employed when the unemployment rate was 5.9 percent.
The Research & Planning section of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services reported Tuesday that the state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell significantly from 5.1 percent in October to 4.9 percent in November.
Over the year, 100 jobs were lost, a 0.2 percent job-loss rate, down from 68,400 in November 2015.
Employment in Kentucky’s manufacturing sector jumped by 600 jobs in November compared to the previous month. The November unemployment rate for OH was 0.2 percentage points higher than the November 2015 rate of 4.7 percent.
There were 2,600 people receiving benefits in November 2016 and 2,900 the same month a year ago. Statistics state 1,200 people were unemployed or looking for work, the same amount as October.
Statewide, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged at 6 percent. “Indiana’s total labor force stands at over 3.3 million and the state’s 64.7 percent labor-force participation rate stands 2 percent above the national rate”. “Although we are a winter vacation destination, the summer tourism season accounts for significantly more jobs in Central Oregon”.
The City of Glen Cove had the lowest rate in Nassau County at 3.4 percent, while Oyster Bay Town and North Hempstead Town were second lowest in the county at 3.5 percent.
In Benton County, the private sector and the public sector added about 200 jobs each.
On the other end of the spectrum, four counties had unemployment rates at or above 7.0 percent in November. The professional and business services sector grew by 5,700 positions from October to November.
The fastest growing private-sector industries in Benton County were leisure and hospitality (up 260 jobs, or 6.4 percent), financial activities (up 70 jobs, or 5.1 percent) and education and health services (up 290 jobs or 4.5 percent).
Employed: Springfield had 59,289 people employed last month, up slightly from 59,258 in October and up from 57,728 people employed a year ago.
The rate, the 10th lowest of Oregon’s 36 counties, was down 0.5 percent from the month prior and 0.4 percent from the year prior.
