Classes resume at high schools after bomb threat scare
In Worcester County, the threat was reportedly for all of their buildings.
A student at Stephen Decatur High School is charged with calling in a bomb threat to the school in Worcester County Wednesday.
Police spokesman Lt. Steve McClanahan said Thursday that there was no apparent motive in the threats.
The note indicated that the attack would possibly take place Friday during school hours, according to a letter from Superintendent Dr. Mary M. Bourque.
School officials say there is reason to believe the threat is just a hoax.
“The school has been evacuated and we are cooperating with law enforcement on the investigation”, the statement read.
School has not been asked and parents are asked not to come to the school. Updates will also be provided on our website, social media, and through the news media.
Friday’s incidents follow other bomb threats called into schools across the Delmarva Peninsula this week. A robo-call was received by Ocean City Elementary, on Tuesday.
