Clausen starts at QB for Ravens vs Seahawks
Russell Wilson will have to continue to lead the Seahawks offense with his arm after Seattle lost another running back to injury.
QB Russell Wilson passed for 292 yards and five touchdowns against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, with three more touchdowns to Doug Baldwin and two to Tyler Lockett.
Wilson threw five touchdown passes Sunday to carry the Seattle Seahawks to a 35-6 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
Looks like Pete Carroll is going to have to pray to his lucky stars that the now week-to-week Lynch makes a healthy return to action as quickly as possible. “The worst we’ve played all year by far”. “The opportunities are there, and they’re taking advantage of stuff and making the most of it. It’s exciting to see and really fun to see these guys”. Against the Miami Dolphins, his true first game, Brown would have a 52-yard touchdown stolen from him by the referees.
We’re also impressed with the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Blake Bortles, who now has multiple touchdowns in eight of his past nine games after tossing three scores and rushing in one touchdown in a drubbing of the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14.
And that doesn’t include his running contributions either.
Quarterback Russell Wilson is re-writing the record book about as quickly as he is changing the general consensus about his game.
At this point of the season, there just aren’t any good options on the free agent market.
Perhaps the biggest beneficiary of Wilson’s second half surge has been Baldwin.
Harris, who has been in the National Football League since 2011 and was signed to the Seahawks’ 53-man roster before the Minnesota game, had 42 yards on 18 carries Sunday and lost a fumble.
Doug Baldwin caught three TD passes and had six receptions for 82 yards. He underwent abdominal surgery two weeks ago and Carroll says his status is week to week. “I don’t think he’s going to have to have an operation, from what I understand, but it’s substantial”.
Clausen had some somewhat surprising success early, given that he had thrown for just 63 yards against the Seahawks in September while with the Bears. Daryl Turner had 13 in 1985. He has scored 11 touchdowns this season. He also had 9 catches for 76 yards and another touchdown. Crowell had just one rushing touchdown (and one receiving touchdown) entering Sunday.
Seattle hasn’t had a receiver selected to the Pro Bowl since Brian Blades in 1989.
– Carroll said safety Kam Chancellor was “pretty sore” Monday after suffering a bruised tailbone in the first quarter Sunday.
The remaining schedule doesn’t create an urgency for a quick return by Lynch.
But Carroll said Chancellor could be back next week against Cleveland at CenturyLink Field.
CB Marcus Burley left the game with an ankle injury in the second half.
“We’ve been unfortunate to lose a lot of great players in Marshawn, Jimmy Graham and the weight of that, and obviously Thomas today, ” Wilson said.
