Clinton and Kaine to debut as Democratic ticket in Florida
On Saturday, the Sanders campaign texted its 1,900 delegates to urge them not to miss the meeting with the Vermont senator about “continuing the political revolution”, which it described as the “most important thing” delegates can do that week. It was obtained by The Associated Press.
Kain also expressed “deep concerns about the leaders, frankly, on the Israeli and the Palestinian side” regarding whether they were doing enough to reach a two-state agreement. “They went along with the notion of ‘we’ve got to keep this quiet and not tell Democrats.’ We feel like we’re being pushed away”, Kaine said.
Sanders delegates in particular hoped for the selection of Sen. Solomon leads the Bernie Delegates Network, a loose organization of more than 1,200 delegates. Those are the party insiders who can vote for the candidate of their choice at the convention.
Sanders waged a feisty yearlong battle against Clinton in the Democratic primaries.
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton speaks at a rally in Entertainment Hall at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Friday, July 22, 2016.
“Hillary Clinton is the direct opposite of Donald Trump”, he said, claiming he and Clinton are “soulmates in this great fight” for progressive agenda. In his speech, Trump said, “I alone can fix [the country]”. “He was a world-class mayor, governor and senator and is one of the most highly respected senators I know”.
Kaine lost no time in showing off his fluent Spanish at a campus dominated by Hispanic students and faculty.
There was his childhood as the son of a Kansas ironworker and hi education at a Jesuit boys schools.

Citing his stance on gun regulation, she said: “Behind that smile Tim has a backbone of steel”. She called Kaine to tell him about 40 minutes before the announcement, and called President Barack Obama shortly after Kaine.
Kaine, 58, had always been a favorite for Clinton’s ticket. At the Republican National Convention in Cleveland this week, the party establishment sought to introduce Pence as experienced and reliably conservative.

In Miami, the Democratic message was that Kaine is widely trusted, even by his GOP colleagues, and is an all-around swell guy.
Clinton ticked off a list of their commonalities, growing up in the Midwest with fathers who ran small businesses, before giving the podium up to Kaine.

Minor controversies have flared over paid travel and gifts he received during his stints as governor and senator.
The two candidates have a common agreement on a number of issues, such as arranging for a no-fly zone over Syria as a way to limit the conflict, and gun control. In 2015, Kaine again joined Warner and a group of East Coast senators pushing an offshore drilling plan.
“While Sen. Kaine has been open about his personal reservations about abortion, he’s maintained a 100% pro-choice voting record in the US Senate”, the National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws, another abortion rights group, said in a statement Friday.
Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia took the stage with Clinton at a campaign rally in Miami for the first time as her running mate.
Clinton spoke early and often of Kaine’s qualifications and compared them to those of Donald Trump and Mike Pence.
But there was one person unhappy with Clinton’s choice: Republican nominee Donald Trump, who tweeted up a storm against Kaine Saturday morning, charging that the Virginian was “owned by the banks” and slamming Kaine’s previous praise for the Obama-backed Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP).
