Clinton and Trump have a near-encounter in a battle for Ohio
Donald Trump is spending Labor Day in the swing state of OH, making a push to separate himself from Democratic rival Hillary Clinton leading up to the November 8 presidential election. Trump said at the Mahoning County Fair after exiting his SUV to shake hands with the crowd.
The Democratic and Republican presidential nominees are campaigning in the populous Midwestern state on Labor Day just two months before voters go to the polls, EFE news reported.
While campaigning in Cleveland, Ohio on Monday, Clinton got caught in a coughing fit which lasted a little bit longer than she would have liked.
Trump was in Cleveland with his running mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence.
Donald Trump was campaigning near Cleveland and at a Labor Day roundtable when he started off by sharing poll numbers.
More recently, the Federal Bureau of Investigation released notes on the agency’s interview last month with Clinton about her use of a private server while secretary of state for official emails, including three found to have a least some classified information.
“We don’t know who will be left, we don’t know where they live, who they are”, said campaign manager Kellyanne Conway.
Surveys showed a significant narrowing of the gap between Trump and his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.
The first debate between Clinton and Trump is scheduled for September 26.
With just three weeks before the first of three presidential debates that are expected to be the most watched moments of the election, Clinton seeks to reassert herself this week. Asked whether he will be pressing some of his controversial policy views on immigration, Trump said, “I think I’ve got that issue very well covered”.
“And with regard to anyone that remains after all of that is done, I think what you heard Donald Trump say is that we’ll give consideration, working with the Congress, in a new and reformed immigration system, to consider it at that time”, Pence said on NBC’s “Meet The Press”.
Mr Trump told reporters that “on occasion” he will invite journalists to travel with him.
Clinton’s last campaign event was Wednesday, at the American Legion’s national convention in Cincinnati, after several days off the trail to fundraise. Obviously, according to the polls, the online polls they did right after the debates.
