Clinton at home after leaving 9/11 event early
She ended up leaving the event early.
An unconfirmed video appears to show a woman who looks like the former Secretary of State stumble as she gets into her van and leaves the event.
The candidate came to the ceremony fresh from a political storm over comments she made about Mr Trump’s supporters at a fundraiser on Friday. Her doctor, Lisa Bardack, said in a statement that she has been experiencing a cough related to allergies and that an examination on Friday showed that she was suffering from pneumonia.
A Fox News reporter cited an anonymous source to claim that Clinton had a “medical episode”. No reporter was allowed to follow her.
“This is the kind of thing that voters have a right to understand before they cast a vote”, she said. “She has some trouble getting inside the van and one of her security guys had to help her”.
“I take two pictures before she passed me”. Around noon, she emerged, walking by herself, and waving to the media and waiting crowds. She was the only person wearing dark sunglasses during the overcast morning.
“Why did you faint?” asked a separate reporter.
The campaign says she’s “feeling much better”. “It’s a attractive day in NY”.
Clinton’s departure from the event was not witnessed by the reporters who travel with her campaign and aides provided no information about why she left or her whereabouts for almost two hours.
“Secretary Clinton attended the September 11th Commemoration Ceremony for an hour and thirty minutes this morning to pay her respects and greet some of the families of the fallen”, campaign spokesman Nick Merrill said. About 90 minutes elapsed before the campaign issued a statement.
The most recent major health problem Clinton has suffered was a scare in 2012 following a concussion – but she is in good health now, according to a statement from her doctor that Clinton’s campaign released in July 2015. The doctor said the incident Sunday was a result of dehydration and overheating and that the candidate is “re-hydrated and recovering nicely”.
Jackson suggested that “it would not be a bad move” if the campaign released more information in a crucial time of the race in which conservatives have touted conspiracies about Clinton’s health.
Trump has no such pool, a break with past candidates. Clinton later said she regretted applying that description to “half” of Trump’s backers, but stuck by her assertion that the GOP nominee has given a platform to “hateful views and voices”.
The high in lower Manhattan was expected to reach 83 degrees Sunday, according to The Weather Channel. Clinton also has experienced deep vein thrombosis, a clot usually in the leg, and takes the blood thinner Coumadin to prevent new clots.
Trump’s personal physician has said the Republican presidential nominee is in excellent health both physically and mentally. But the 70-year-old has refused to release his own health records.
