Clinton calls Trump “scary” and “dangerous”
Bill Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard, told Newsmax TV he was not impressed by either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton at Wednesday’s “Commander-in-Chief Forum” in New York City, but believes the Republican presidential candidate came off better than his Democratic rival.
But a win for Mrs. Clinton in North Carolina, which backed Mr. Obama in 2008 but Mr. Romney in 2012, could deepen the hole from which Mr. Trump must start his climb. It was a test and he failed it.
Some of Trump’s foreign policy positions, such as his proposal to fight terrorism by imposing a temporary ban on listed Muslims entering the country, have alarmed not just Democrats but many in his own party’s leadership.
Outgoing President Barack Obama condemned Donald Trump as unsuitable to be commander-in-chief Thursday, after the Republican nominee blasted United States military brass and praised Vladimir Putin.
The New York Times’ Nicholas Kristof wrote that the forum was “an embarrassment to journalism”, while his colleague Paul Krugman wrote that “everyone knew this would happen”, but Lauer didn’t “have a follow-up planned” for Trump’s answer.
“Bizarrely once again, he praised Russia’s strongman, Vladimir Putin, even taking the astonishing step of suggesting that he preferred the Russian president to our American president”. That it not just unpatriotic.
Mrs Clinton, while stressing she had not improperly handled classified information, said: ‘It was a mistake to have a personal account. “She did say that”.
Reading selected excerpts of his public comments from around the 2003 invasion, Trump denied first ever supporting the invasion, then said his comments supporting the invasion were uninformed and “superseded” by later comments opposing it.
Both candidates believe they have the upper hand, with Clinton contrasting her experience with Trump’s unpredictability and the Republican arguing that Americans anxious about their safety will be left with more of the same if they elect President Barack Obama’s former secretary of state. “We’ve never seen anything like this”.
“The court said the North Carolina law was created to target African-Americans with nearly surgical precision”. Dr. Stein is not on the North Carolina ballot. “These laws are a blast form the Jim Crow past and they have no place in 21st century America”.
While the Trump campaign touted the size of its haul, it also tried to make the case that Trump doesn’t need the money that Clinton does.
“It is a game to him”. Everything is a game.
“You actually have to know what you are talking about and you actually have to have done your homework. This is real decisions that have to be made for our country”.
Norman Ornstein, a political commentator, tweeted, “Lauer interrupted Clinton’s answers repeatedly to move on”.
