Clinton commits to more debates, avoids specifics

Sanders said nothing about the developments during a string of public events Friday.

The idea of the meeting between Obama and Sanders was raised when the two men talked at last month’s Congressional Ball, Earnest said.

Symone Sanders, a spokeswoman for Sanders, had initially argued that candidates risked being barred by the DNC from future encounters if they chose to participate in unofficial debates.

The former Barack Obama campaign volunteer said the energy for Sanders exceeds what she saw in the 2008 campaign.

The aide declined to specify the nature of those discussions.

She introduced Sanders at an Iowa rally Wednesday, extolling his virtues as a candidate who has no interest in being a puppet controlled by corporations.

“Bernie Sanders has consistently represented everything that I’m interested in and that I care about”, she said. “He’s the only one who hasn’t taken super PAC money, isn’t connected to all the corporations, to Wall Street, and I think that’s what this country needs”.

He also predicted he would do well in the New Hampshire primary and better than people expect in the next two contests that follow in Nevada and SC.
