Clinton courts Republicans, warns of Trump’s ‘casual inciting of violence’
A woman was tackled by security as she was trying to rush the stage at a Hillary Clinton rally in Des Moines, Iowa, on Wednesday.
“I’ve sat across the table with Hillary Clinton eye-to-eye, and when you’re working outside of staff and outside of the press she is somebody I can work with”, King said during a speech at The Des Moines Register’s Political Soapbox at the Iowa State Fair.
Also look for Clinton to argue that Trump’s drive to cut taxes on certain business income would benefit many of his companies.
In a conference call hosted earlier Wednesday by the Republican Party of Iowa, Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge tied Clinton to President Barack Obama, whose policies she said create “over-regulation of small businesses and businesses across this great country”.
Some people, including members of the Clinton campaign, suggested Trump was encouraging his supporters and/or Second Amendment supporters use violence against Clinton.
“Hillary Clinton had an opportunity to share her vision with Iowans today, but instead she showed up an hour late, only spoke for twenty minutes, and didn’t provide any details on her “plan” to get America back to work”, Kaufmann said.
“If we build the right kind of organization here, and we are, and we’re really coordinating as much as we can, we can make some real headway on what’s happening in the state”, Renteria said.
She says her plan would add 10.4 million jobs to the United States, which would create more than 100,000 jobs in Iowa.
“If we do infrastructure and we do clean, renewable energy jobs, then we’re going to be on our way to a 21st-century economy that will work for everybody, not just those at the top”, Clinton said. “Sorry Donald if you’re watching”, said Clinton.
Clinton said Trump wants to help the wealthy by eliminating the estate tax while easing up on the financial industry.
Democrats said such comments were further evidence that Trump was undisciplined and unprepared for the presidency.
“And now his casual inciting of violence”, she said. He then said there was no way people would be able to stop a President Clinton from stacking the Supreme Court with anti-gun justices, before adding, “Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is – I don’t know”. It aims to use a wave of almost 50 recent endorsements by high-profile Republicans and independents to convince voters to cross party lines.
