Clinton Ends June With $44 Million in the Bank
As 3LW would say: players are gonna play, haters are gonna hate, and Joe Biden is going to put people running for president in uncomfortable positions.
2016 presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.
Biden, speaking to NPR for an interview that will air on Weekend Edition, said he has spoken privately with both candidates and Sanders assured him he will endorse Clinton, his rival for the Democratic nomination. “The Democrats are coalescing even before this occurs”.
This is in part thanks to Clinton’s plentiful coffers-according to the Center for Responsive Politics, Clinton’s campaign has raised over $229 million to date while Trump has raised just $63 million.
“I talked to Joe, I think it was three weeks ago”, Sanders said.
Sanders pointed out that he and Clinton may disagree on political issues, but that has no negative bearing on her personally.
The June 27-July 1 poll showed a 9.4 percentage point lead for the former secretary of state over the NY businessman, down slightly from an 11.2 point lead in a previous five-day poll that ended on June 28.
Bernie Sanders slapped away Donald Trump’s claim that he “hates” Hillary Clinton, saying he has a “lot of respect” for her while mocking Trump as a “genius” for being able to read his mind.
While he’s been vocally critical of Trump since the last contest in the Democratic presidential primary, Sanders has still not formally dropped his White House bid, although he’s said that “in all likelihood” he will vote for Clinton.
NPR notes that when Sanders was asked about this statement in an MSNBC interview Thursday night, he replied that “as of this moment, we’re not there quite yet”. “I would love her to say that and I would love her to move aggressively to make that happen”.
