Clinton on track to raise $45M in quarter
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest has said he doesn’t know whether Obama’s staff was aware of Clinton’s private email use. Clinton often passed around Blumenthal’s memos to senior diplomats while she was at the State Department (Blumenthal recently sat for an hours long grilling in front of the congressional committee still investigating Benghazi.). “And leave it hung up”, her assistant wrote back. Clinton confirmed it at a news conference, saying she chose to use one device for her personal and work e-mail because it was more convenient. “Can I go?” There is a redacted e-mail titled “only the Hamptons” requesting iced tea and this one loving a Chinese carpet.
Clinton will also benefit from a network of outside groups that can accept checks of any size from donors. She asks aides for restaurant recommendations for a meal with California Democratic Sen. “Can you advise who is twittering in her name and how we can address?”
As of now, 18 men and women – four Democrats and 14 Republicans – have officially announced they are candidates for the November 2016 presidential election. As the controversy has continued, Clinton has seen ratings of her character and trustworthiness drop in polling.
President Barack Obama’s top aides, including David Axelrod, communicated with Hillary Clinton at her private email address while she was secretary of state, new records show.
There is a lot of appreciation for everything the Dept has done around this so far and I think you could really build on it by putting someone there in charge of worldwide LGBT human right issues.
Amanda Anderson, Emanuel’s assistant, wrote.
A December 2009 email exchange with Abedin revealed a struggle Clinton had with a fax machine.
In 1997, Blumenthal was hired as a special assistant and adviser to President Clinton.
“I hope the absurd “death panels” argument can be put to rest so people can have the peace of mind that planning provides”, Clinton replied. “That’s why I’m thankful for you”.
As Vox notes, it’s unlikely that any career-ending emails will be found in the newly released batch, as they have been meticulously picked through by State Department officials prior to release, and before State Department even had possession of the emails, Clinton controversially chose which emails she would allow to be archived in the public domain, and which she would delete.
Republicans pounced on an email conversation between Clinton loyalist and CNN political commentator Paul Begala and Capricia Marshall, the ex- chief of protocol, that appears to involve a fundraising idea that Begala suggested in order to help pay off Clinton’s 2008 campaign debt.
The campaign released few details beyond its overall fundraising total. The first couple of emails between them have to do with sending Clinton some get well wishes after she was injured and something to do with Ernie Banks.
Clinton turned her emails over to the State Department last year, almost two years after leaving the Obama administration. Only she and perhaps a small circle of advisers know the content of the discarded communications. “Thank you so much for being part of this campaign”.
Graham is now running for president, primarily on a foreign policy platform focused heavily on attacking Clinton’s credentials. “… This is the second time this has happened”.
It is likely to be several weeks before there is a complete fundraising picture.
