Clinton, Sanders campaign in Colorado
At a meeting with Nevada Dreamers, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton addressed the recent passing of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and what it means for the lawsuit over the president’s executive actions on immigration.
The Democratic presidential candidates, Bernie Sanders and Hilary Clinton shared the spotlight in Denver on Saturday.
But Clinton leads in SC with a large advantage among African Americans, who make up a a majority of Democratic voters in the state.
“I’m the only candidate who will take on every barrier to progress”. He raised again her Senate vote in favor of invading Iraq and said that on the most important foreign policy issue in modern times, “I voted the right way, she voted the wrong way”.
Sanders, after talking about the “real unemployment rate” and “greed”, localized his overtures to Obama by noting the way the 2008 recession decimated Nevada’s housing and employment market. “I believe President Obama had the legal authority to do what he did”. This state was decimated. Clinton stayed for the entire service and Sanders left early, heading to a rally at a nearby high school. Clinton rhetorically asked the crowd.
The Vermont senator used unusually blunt words to express frustration with his opponent when he spoke to reporters Saturday before flying to Colorado for a Democratic dinner at which both were scheduled to appear.
“I am not here to talk about my involvement in the American civil rights movements”, Lewis said, noting that he is here to introduce “my beloved sister who I have known for so many years”.
The race for the Democratic Party’s presidential nominatoin is facing an unexpected road block in Nevada: foreclosures.
LAS VEGAS (AP) – Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are speaking from the pulpit as they campaign ahead of next weekend’s Democratic caucuses in Nevada. Clinton even cancelled an event in Florida on Monday, so she should stay in Nevada to campaign. The margin of error is plus or minus 5 percentage points.
This comes just a week from the Democratic Caucus in the state.
