Clinton, Sanders campaigns agree to add New Hampshire debate
One of America’s most esteemed newspapers has announced its endorsement for Hillary Clinton, saying that while her Democratic rival Bernie Sanders had raised good ideas she was better placed to deliver on them.
ABC reporter Jonathan Karl repeatedly asked Hillary Clinton on Friday whether she felt she would win the Democratic Iowa caucus, but Clinton ignored every question as she worked the rope line after an event.
Hillary Clinton said she’s welcoming the rivalry that’s developed with her closest Democratic opponent, Vermont Sen.
During that campaign, Clinton resisted donning the symbolic mantle of the country’s best possible shot at becoming the first female president.
Children having access to guns too often leads to fatal accidents, Clinton added.
“I was one of these guys that maybe just let it go, didn’t care”, he said. “I don’t think the great majority of Democrats or open-minded independents want us to rip up what we have achieved….”
“Voters have the chance to choose one of the most broadly and deeply qualified presidential candidates in modern history”, the paper writes of Mrs. Clinton, after noting how her Republican peers are fighting to prove they’re “the least experienced person for the most important elected job in the world”.
Clinton has made that argument on the stump across Iowa, casting herself as the candidate most prepared to build on President Barack Obama’s legacy. I really believe in her platform.
A letter from the campaign asserted that the Times rushed the flawed story onto its website and front page despite “questionable sourcing”, and didn’t do enough to contact Clinton before publication. Another time she grabbed my hand and says thanks for your help with this event-she knew I had helped book the venue.
Although Cruz and Trump have been locked in a virtual tie in polls of likely caucus-goers for weeks, Cruz has redirected the full force of his campaign’s communications team towards Rubio, whose support has steadily increased in the waning days of the Iowa campaign. Clinton did agree to March 3 in MI and May 24 in California. She was here in 2008; has the experience we didn’t have.
“This is just how they each as individuals have chosen to cast their support in the primaries”, said Aimee Van Cleave, executive director of the Wyoming Democratic Party.
“I don’t know how much money she raised, but I’ll tell you something: yesterday we raised $1.4 million, average contribution $27”, Sanders said.
None of this would have happened with Rachel Maddow pressing and both campaigns being open to more debates. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley’s campaign continues to languish in the low single digits.
“From deporting Mexican immigrants and barring Muslims to slapping a 45 percent tariff on Chinese imports, Mr. Trump invents his positions as he goes along”, the editorial says.
