Clinton, Sanders to address strategy to fight Islamic State
Clinton responded on Saturday night by arguing that her Wall Street plan was “tougher, more effective and more comprehensive” the others. Though their tax rates would rise, the Sanders’ staffers said, middle-class Americans would likely come out ahead because of the benefits he’s proposing. The establishment political press can no longer control the national discussion. “I don’t think they saw that as something appropriate to do, to mask her coziness and her closeness to Wall Street and all of the architects of the crash of 2008”.
Hillary Clinton says Bernie Sanders’ health plan would endanger the accomplishments of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and that it would impose a tax increase that middle class Americans can’t afford.
At least, I think, she learned her lesson: Later in the debate, in response to a question from Twitter calling her out for invoking 9/11, she pivoted away from that answer and went straight to Krugman. Sanders put Clinton on the defensive in the debate when he said Wall Street had been the major contributor to her campaigns in order to get support in return. “I can’t see how you can be serious about raising incomes if you also want to slap new taxes on them, no matter what the taxes would pay for”. “Why do they make millions of dollars of campaign contributions? Those of us who were there know that”, the former president said, according to Bloomberg.
Bernie Sanders, a senator, and Martin O’Malley, an ex-governor, don’t have as much experience with these issues, and Clinton probably benefits in the Democratic race if national security becomes a major focus in the wake of the Paris attacks.
“When we were attacked, where were we attacked?”
Former President Bill Clinton joined Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail Sunday in Ames, Iowa, telling CNN after the event that attacks tying his wife to Wall Street are “a stretch”. The union’s efforts have been instrumental in getting higher minimum wages in Los Angles, New York, San Francisco and Seattle. “It was good for the economy and it was a way to rebuke the terrorists who had attacked our country”, she said. He said it was “a little bit silly and a little bit absurd” and has “nothing to do with the question of the impact of Wall Street campaign contributions on her view on Wall Street”. “That is the sort of company, that is the sort economic advice that she would follow”.
“SEIU members and working families across America are part of a growing movement to build a better future for their families, and Hillary Clinton will support and stand with them”.
“They had been on the march in both Iraq and Syria for a few time”, Rhodes said.
Clinton was roundly criticized for the remarks, and O’Malley did not hold back either.
