Clinton says she’s the only candidate with plan to defeat Islamic State
Campaigning in Republican territory, Hillary Clinton said Friday her opponents are all talk when it comes to defeating the Islamic State group but she’s the only candidate with a specific plan.
Clinton has been speaking about combating terrorism at length since terrorists killed 130 people in Paris and 14 in San Bernardino, California. The agency is continuing to search for emails Pagliano sent and received during Clinton’s tenure and will share them with members of Congress if they are located, Gerlach said.
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says Hillary Clinton’s time as secretary of State “caused tremendous havoc and tremendous death”.
“If you are trying to keep people paying dues and supporting your organization, you want to keep them upset”, Clinton told Seth Meyers on NBC’s “Late Night”. Recalling Bill Clinton’s 2009 trip to North Korea to free two Americans who were being held there, she said, “You never know why you might need to use him”.
Clinton said that there was “no higher responsibility for your president” than fighting terror and keeping the United States safe, arguing that the country needs a “smart, strong strategy that works” not just something that grabs headlines. Walters and former Gov. George Nigh – also a member of the candidate’s state leadership council – both hit what are clearly Clinton-team talking points, but average voters repeating the same candidate strengths will always make political operatives happy. In the early primary voting state of Iowa, Clinton leads with 53.3 percent, but she continue to trail behind Sanders in New Hampshire, where Sanders leads 47.3 percent to 43.3 percent. She said one thing has become evident over the past 35 years: “Our economy does better when we have a Democrat in the White House”. “I will fight against the gun lobby to try to get a common sense gun safety measures”.
Polls lately put Clinton comfortably ahead of her closest challenger for the Democratic nomination, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Clinton sought to underscore her experience, her toughness and her willingness to defend the party’s values, as well as her own.
She joked: “I know that you don’t get many Democratic candidates running for president in Oklahoma”.
