Clinton targets Trump in first general election ad
According to footage tweeted by CBS News reporter Hannah Chanpong, Clinton was so startled by reporters’ questions about her running mate – is it Elizabeth Warren, or what? – she became temporarily overwhelmed.
Healey said Warren would make a “terrific vice president” and hopes she continues to “be aggressive in pointing out to the American public exactly what Donald Trump is all about, what he represents and why it’s so unsafe, and why people should be afraid of the specter of a Donald Trump presidency”.
Sanders said he and Clinton would discuss “if she wins, what kind of administration she will have”.
“Yes, I do”, Warren said with certainty. Hillary Clinton’s campaign tells Andrea Mitchell tonight that although Elizabeth Warren is under consideration for the VP job, the interview process for vice presidential contenders has not yet started within the Clinton campaign. “You guys have gotta try the cold chai”, she said.
“I get the reason that you should be willing to negotiate sometimes”, she said. “But nobody says that she doesn’t know how to throw a punch”.
Never mind that even some of Clinton’s allies say Warren is in no way qualified. “Elizabeth Warren’s problem would be the same problem I’d have”.
“She’s a Hillary Clinton Jr.in just about every possible way”, Schilling said on the “Morning Meeting” show. While seemingly eager to fight for Clinton, the senator seemed to telegraph her position on joining the Clinton ticket in her interview with Maddow.
Rendell continued, “The danger of having his name placed in nomination and fighting to the bitter end, the danger is that could embitter some of his own supporters as opposed to Bernie standing up next week and saying, ‘Look, we fought hard, we did wonderful things, we went from 1% in the polls to nearly winning, we’ve accomplished a lot, we’ve got a lot of roads to go down together, I’m gonna keep my PAC in operation supporting progressive candidates, but right now the person who’s most likely to get the type of action that we wanted to see is Secretary Clinton'”.
