Clippers’ Austin Rivers: Broken left hand
Rivers suffered the injury during Wednesday night’s loss to the Timberwolves.
The Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets reportedly talked about a Blake Griffin trade, but it sounds like the superstar isn’t going anywhere.
If anything, the team needs to focus on life beyond Blake Griffin; mainly because they’ve been steady and just fine without him. He returned to Los Angeles on Sunday and will be evaluated by a hand specialist Monday. The team’s success in his absence may have given Rivers and the front office enough confidence in the current roster to explore a possible deal.
Throughout his nearly seven-year stint with the Clippers, Griffin has garnered several honors for his impressive performances.
Now, though, if Lawrence is correct with what he’s heard, maybe Doc Rivers is thinking of another ridiculous GM move and at least weighing up the option of trading Griffin. Prigioni sustained a facial bruise Friday against the Orlando Magic but played against the Heat, getting two points, two assists and one steal in 14 minutes. But, as said, the Clippers aren’t biting just yet on anything.
Griffin busted his hand punching the team equipment manager during an altercation in Toronto on January 23.
Still, that’s not stopping that National Basketball Association rumors involving Griffin to Denver, among other teams. “Hopefully it’ll be done pretty soon”. In the wake of the incident, there have been rumors circulating that the Clippers might be willing to part with Griffin ahead of the February 18 NBA Trade Deadline.
Prior to breaking his hand, Griffin had not played for the Clippers since December 26 as he partially tore his left quadriceps tendon in the Clippers’ 94-84 win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
