Clippers lose to Hornets in China
After missing out on the playoffs last season, the Charlotte Hornets made a series of moves in the offseason to ensure that their year removed from the postseason was just a fluke.
Cody Zeller and Jeremy Lin each scored 16 points to lead seven Charlotte players in double digits as the Hornets topped the Los Angeles Clippers 106-94 on Sunday in the first of two preseason National Basketball Association games between the teams in China.
“I think I’ve been able to get a lot of really good shots”. Former Clipper Spencer Hawes also had a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds… Lin has played very well through the preseason thus far, averaging 14.3 points, 4.0 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.0 three-pointer per game through 26.6 minutes of action.
Even with J.J. Redick scoring 16 points in the first quarter, the team couldn’t get any real traction, allowing the Hornets to score 37 points in the first quarter. Lin may not actually become Charlotte’s “biggest acquisition” but he will definitely be a key player off the bench for the Hornets.
The injury is not considered to be serious and Paul will be re-evaluated prior to the Clippers game against the Hornets Wednesday in Shanghai.
