‘Clock Boy’ Ahmed Mohamed Meets a President
Ahmed Mohamed, the 14-year-old Texas high school student who was arrested after bringing a homemade clock to school, met this week with Sudan president Omar al-Bashir, an accused mass murderer.
Ahmed said he was pleased to meet the president and vowed to return one day with a new invention, according to the radio broadcast.
“I was told that Bashir personally intervened with the [appeals] court to reject my challenge”, Hassan told the Sudan Tribune five years ago. He is a risky man to cross so of course we worry about Mohamed’s security when he travels to Sudan’.
The controversial meeting took place on Wednesday at the presidential compound in country’s capital of Khartoum, according to the Sudan Tribune.
The Texan teenager was pulled out of class and handcuffed because a teacher mistook his clock for a bomb.
Mohamed said he wanted to give his son a breather before deciding which school he would attend next. The boy’s family reportedly has expressed interest in visiting the White Home.
The latest post, published by Breitbart News, puts the events surrounding Mohamed’s son Ahmed’s “clock” incident in context of the father’s efforts at Islamic activism, providing the motivation for what many have described as a probable hoax meant to generate a media firestorm against the local school district and police. Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White Home?
Before Mohamed meets President Obama though, reports indicate he met a different president this week that might come as a shock to his defenders. We should inspire more kids like you to like science.
