According to KRON4, fire crews reported that the accident happened southbound on 280, just north of Saratoga Avenue.
A California driver got quite the earth (or window)-shattering surprise yesterday, when a nearby truck lost a metal beam that went straight through his windshield. Christopher Salcido, a San Jose Fire spokesman, told the SF Gate. Officials said the “lucky” driver suffered a scratch in the incident. The large piece of metal reportedly fell out of a truck and hit the road before crashing into the BMW.
The man then drove his vehicle through traffic and pulled over on the right side.
The San Jose Firefighters Local 230 tweeted out the image, with text reading simply, “Reminder Always be alert to your surroundings”.
