Closures along Bay Bridge as accident leaves truck dangling over side
A box truck flipped on its side on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Maryland in a two-vehicle accident Friday morning, blocking the eastbound lanes, Maryland Transportation Authority officials said. The crash has been cleared and bridge inspections have been completed allowing for traffic to flow again. Inspectors will then check the bridge for any damage before traffic reopens.
Expect significant delays on the Bay Bridge caused by an overturned truck at eastbound Route 50.
Shortly after 10 a.m. the truck, which appeared to say “Lindy’s Seafood” on the side, was returned to its wheels.
Crews could be seen cleaning up crash site.
The eastbound lanes of the bridge are shut down.
Anne Arundel County fire officials reported the accident around 8:15 a.m. Fire officials said there are no injuries reported, but added that three vehicles were involved.
