Clyne: Liverpool can win title this season
The retired England global has had a solid career at the likes of Leeds, Aston Villa and Manchester City. We’ve got the squad of players to fight for the title, ‘ the 25-year-old told Sky Sports.
“The thing this team has is a lot of quality but the team spirit and togetherness of how we play”. I thought afterwards: ‘Was I ever in my whole life where I won against a second division team in Germany or here and had so little problems and I still was not happy because we could have done much better?’ No, I wasn’t. “Everyone has to be on the same page”. “Liverpool are firing on all cylinders this season, and it has all the ingredients of a fantastic football match”.
Milner said: “It does feel a bit different”. Not really so give him a home game for example. “A lot of things can happen between now and the end of the season”.
“This is obviously more his stamp, he has made his signings”.
“We’ll have to put them under pressure from the very beginning and then hopefully we can keep that momentum throughout the game”, he said (Echo).
“We don’t think: “Ah, we’ve got it”.
In other words, we’ve seen this before – on the back of a blitz worthy performance at Arsenal on opening day, the shock 2-0 loss to Burnley FC that followed it was a wake-up call that’s sure to temper expectations for weeks to come. We want to perform. That is nice. But it is really about performing.
“That comes down to obviously the manager and us being together longer, and the team being together longer and playing and working on how he wants to play more”.
Karius returned to fitness and made the bench against Chelsea, before starting and keeping a clean sheet against Derby County. “I can not remember a lot of space in the games we played against Chelsea or Tottenham (a 1-1 draw)”.
Liverpool aren’t the only club interested though, Sampdoria are expected to attempt to bring back their former loanee on a permanent basis, as are Joe Hart’s new club, Torino. [It is] great to see [Danny] Ings out there.
“It is not important what I think”.
Historically, the Reds have never lost a game at Anfield against the Tigers in all competitions, but that’s not at all how we’re going to be looking at this one – as Klopp said, the name isn’t important.
