CNN Hires Fired Trump Campaign Manager
It didn’t take long for Corey Lewandowski to find a new job after being fired Monday as Donald Trump’s campaign manager.
Politico reported the deal would make Lewandowski exclusive to CNN, presumably giving the network an instant expert in all things Trump to lure viewers to its political coverage.
Lewandowski also was charged with misdemeanor battery last spring following an altercation with a female reporter from Breitbart News who had tried to ask Trump a question following a rally.
BuzzFeed News reported that Lewandowski allegedly pushed another reporter in March – who worked for CNN. He was later cleared of any charges.
Lewandowski was sacked from the Trump campaign on Monday, alleged after Trump’s children led a “coup” to remove the notoriously hard (and probably misogynistic) aide.
His perspective might be uniquely valuable given that he was Trump’s right hand man up until this week. One of the sources said that MSNBC subsequently told him that it would not be making an offer, mainly due to ethical concerns.
He can speak about more than the world of Trump.
Lewandowski then went after Gray personally and told him to get back in the pen or his media credentials would be revoked. “Why would I want to do anything other than what’s in the best interest of him and the campaign?”
Trump has repeatedly criticized CNN for what he says is biased reporting, and he and his followers frequently call it the “Clinton News Network”. Lewandowski is expected to address that during his interview on “OutFront” on Thursday night. There was no word on when his first appearance as a paid commentator will be.
