CNN’s Van Jones: Democratic Base in ‘Full-on Rebellion’ Against Hillary Clinton
The poll showed Sanders with a 49 percent to 44 percent lead over Clinton in Iowa, while a poll conducted last month showed Clinton with a 51 percent to 40 percent advantage.
While the dozen states that will vote on Super Tuesday, March 1, have many more Democratic Party delegates (1,007) at stake than in Iowa (52), New Hampshire (32), Nevada (43) and SC (59), the growing prospect of a Sanders surge during much of the first month of the 2016 nominating season undoubtedly has disconcerting echoes for the Clinton campaign.
Sanders also reiterated to Bash on Tuesday evening that before the Iowa caucuses he plans to release a detailed tax plan to pay for his proposals – which are now less than three weeks away. Sanders describes his plan as “Medicare-for-all”.
Jeff Weaver, Sanders’ campaign manager, isn’t saying when those numbers will be released.
“In 1988 I probably lost a Congressional election because I said maybe we should not have assault weapons being sold in America”, he said. “Not necessarily before the caucuses”. We started out this campaign at two percent in the polls.
“Since when do Democrats attack one another on universal health care?”.
As she works to maintain an advantage among African-American voters in her quest for the Democratic presidential nomination, Hillary Clinton has secured an endorsement from the nation’s first black attorney general.
“It’s a hearts and minds issue, and Sanders is winning the hearts, and the Clinton campaign is basically ceding the heart issue”, Todd said.
Bernie Sanders refuses to hit the Madame on any issue where she is truly vulnerable and she still can’t close the deal.
“I did”, Clinton said when asked whether she bought a ticket. “Well, if you wait too long, nobody will have a chance to see them or analyze them”. “I worry if we give Republicans Democratic permission to do that, we’ll go back to an era – before we had the Affordable Care Act – that would strip millions and millions and millions of people off their health insurance”.
“It’s not a mistake”, Sanders said at a Democratic forum in Iowa on Monday.
“There is no way that can be paid for without raising taxes on the middle class. The arithmetic just doesn’t add up”, Clinton said. I think Trump is Clinton’s worst nightmare. What senator sanders has said and it’s his flawless right to say it he wants a national health care single payer system. “The Clinton campaign is wrong”. Let me pick up where Cecilia’s piece left off, that attack on senator sanders’ health care.
The campaign also accused Clinton of flip-flopping in a statement put out shortly after the tweet. She also vows to protect the Affordable Care Act, which prohibits insurance companies from discriminating against women.
“Probably all of us respect and love him, but we have a lot people here who have worked with him for many years – and he has yet to have one endorsement from people who know him well and who have worked with him”, McCaskill said.
Bash commented on the high cost of Sanders’ universal healthcare plan, mentioning a 15 trillion dollar price tag, to which Sanders jumped in again, claiming that his plan would “save thousands of dollars for every middle class family in this country”.
