‘COAS asks Afghan heads to help find Charsadda attackers’
General Raheel Sharif asked top Afghan leadership and the U.S. commander for cooperation in locating and targeting the ones responsible for the heinous act, and to bring them to justice.
General Raheel Sharif sought cooperation of Afghanistan in tracing and hunting down the militants who perpetrated the deadly attack on Bacha Khan University, in which 21 people lost their lives, mostly students.
The Pakistan Army Chief said an operative of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) issued instructions to the terrorists in Charsadda from a location in Afghanistan.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) chief Lt Gen Asim Bajwa, army chief also shared these details with commander of Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces in Afghanistan Gen John Campbell.
Bajwa indicated yesterday that soil of foreign country was used in the attack but did not blame Afghanistan.
Around four terrorists entered Bacha Khan University in Charsadda district, roughly 50 kilometres (30 miles) from the city of Peshawar, on Wednesday morning, killing 20 people and injuring at least 11 people.
Foreign Office (FO) spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said that the investigation into the attack will be completed shortly and action will be taken against terrorists and their facilitators involved in attack.
