Cobb stores ready for shoppers on Black Friday

Lesser is asking the public to support the legislation by not shopping at stores that open on Thanksgiving and to only patronize stores that stay closed on the holiday.

On Friday November 27, shops will be open all day until 10pm. The Home Depot’s website, under store hours, states, “All stores are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas” and spokesperson Margaret Watters for The Home Depot said in a phone interview, “The decision is something that we have always done”.

The economics of opening on Thanksgiving can be a little different for the smaller guys.

Even fewer said they would in the surveys conducted by Deloitte and the International Council of Shopping Centers.

And although Dillard’s won’t be open until 8 a.m. on Friday, they said they will be ready for the shoppers who have already been out for a while.

“I plan to spend Thanksgiving cooking a fabulous meal for my family”, Andrea Mills said.

But some small stores in malls don’t have a choice. On Black Friday, the mall will open at 5 a.m. and close at 10 p.m.

Many of Kryliouk’s customers are people known as snowbirds, who spend the cold weather months in Florida and head back north in the spring.

Remember when Thanksgiving was a holiday? “This is similar to other insights we’ve gathered, showing shopper optimism is balanced with a spending plan and sales research to stretch dollars further and maximize discounts and rewards”. Now is good time to ask around at your local stores when the line formed a year ago. Among them: Toys R Us, for which the holiday season is especially important.
