Coca-Cola in trouble for failing to arrange girl’s date with Hrithik Roshan
The dancing star when he started his career with “Kaho Na Pyaar Hai” managed to gain a lot female attention and a huge fan following. The company announced that the victor will get a chance to dine with Hrithik Roshan but they kept her waiting and did not fulfill their words till date.
The matter is of the year 2000 when Coca Cola had arranged a promotional contest. But what happened with Chandigarh girl Shikha Monga is far from dreamy. She has filed a petition against the company and sued it for damages.
The complainant, Shikha Monga, had moved the court in 2003 but her application was taken up by the district court here on Monday. With these orders, she need not pay Rs 2.43 lakh as court fee for the suit.
Coca-Cola sought more time to file its reply so the case was adjourned for 24th August. So when Chandigarh girl Shikha Monga was promised a date with the actor by multinational brand Coca-Cola after participating and winning a contest, Shikha was naturally over the moon. She was then a student of Government College for Girls, Monga still remembers the day when she won the first prize on May 22, 2000.
“Everybody in college, friends and relatives used to ask me about my meeting and dinner with Hrithik”. But when she approached the Cola brand’s office to get more details about her much-awaited date, she was given Rs 5 lakhs in return.
When coke failed to keep its promise, she wrote to them to inquire about her date. “I lost my reputation and was labelled as liar in the society and have no alternative but to file this suit for damages”, Shikha stated in her suit.
