Cody Hollister out with broken foot
For the second time in just four days, the Razorbacks have lost a receiver to a broken foot. With the loss of wide receiver Keon Hatcher for at least six weeks, quarterback Brandon Allen’s primary target on the perimeter is gone.
Foot injuries are unfortunately becoming all too common for Arkansas this season, in addition to Hollister and Hatcher, a foot injury is sidelining running back Jonathan Williams for the season. Against UTEP, Arkansas allowed 1.7 yards per rush and surrendered 204 total yards in the blowout victory. “So we just do the best we can, we’ve got our biggest scout guys in there giving the best look they can, but you can’t simulate that”.
” Jakeem has been a pain in my side for, shoot, the past four or five years”, Jennings said.
“They are going to be a tough team”.
“Definitely, we remember it”, said defensive end Branden Jackson. Collins remains to fill the void left by Williams and the junior had his best rushing performance last season against Texas Tech. So I tortured myself by going back and reviewing Arkansas drive chart and box score from last year’s game to see if there was a similarly shocking stat (outside of them rushing for almost a tenth of a mile). “But this is a great opportunity for us to go out and compete – and show what we’ve got”. Touted as the biggest in the nation, professional or college, last season, the unit was solid at creating space for an Arkansas running attack that had two 1,000-yard rushers. He did not give a timeline for when the return could take place. But it’s all around us.
Jerry and Gene Jones, whose gift of $10.65 million helped fund the facility, will be in attendance at the ceremony. “There are a lot of things we did to ourselves that you just can’t have and expect to have success”.
“I didn’t think week one we rose up together very well, but I thought last week they’d get a stop”.
Wednesday, Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan had some fun at Bielema’s expense, telling reporters during his weekly press conference that he “didn’t want to pull an Arkansas coach” after being asked about having to play the New England Patriots twice every year. “If I can’t count on you to be at a meeting, we’re not going to be able to count on you on-field”.
Now he gets his chance, though it should be without fanfare, receivers coach Michael Smith said.
Texas Tech is preparing to put all its hand signals to use.
