Colbert announces Clooney as first ‘Late Show’ guest
(No surprise – Colbert admitted on “Report” in 2013 that he knew all famous people except Clooney, so we’re glad that’s changed.).
Colbert’s news arrived just hours after he helped his Comedy Central predecessor Jon Stewart bid an emotional farewell to The Daily Show Thursday night.

George Clooney was one of David Letterman’s last guests in the in the final days of his tenure on CBS’ “Late Show“. Over the past few months, Colbert has launched his show’s website, announced his bandleader, and debuted promos featuring Mitt Romney and puppies.
“Is there a party or anything?” Colbert’s unscripted remarks brought Stewart to tears.
