Cold front bringing break from heat, chance for rain Friday
Changes still ahead for the weekend.
Showers may linger through mid-morning in the Wichita area Friday, National Weather Service forecasters say, as markedly cooler temperatures move into the region. Impacts will be most noticeable across eastern NM as moisture dragged in with the front will allow scattered storms and showers to fire by late day.
“Then Thursday evening some strong storms will tropical-like downpours developed in parts of the area resulting in 1″ to 4” of rain in Bucks and Hunterdon counties. The potential for severe will be low, but heavy rain is likely and frequent lightning.
We’re expecting a mix of sun and clouds Saturday with highs around 90 degrees.
Tonight: Clear skies continue, lows in the upper 60s.
SUNDAY: The high country will be favored for rain while the rest of us begin to dry out (isolated storms at best in the lower elevations).
Tomorrow under mostly sunny skies highs will be in the mid-upper 80s with a north wind 5-10 miles per hour.
Temps will go from above normal on Friday to below normal from Saturday into next week.
