Cold, snowy weather forecast for Thanksgiving
Triangle Thanksgiving: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy, warm, breezy with a 20% coverage of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28. Friday’s weather will be even warmer with readings in the lower 60s as a southerly flow develops ahead of the next cold front.
SATURDAY: As a slow-moving cold front makes its way into the region, we’re now expecting rain chances to hold off at least until Saturday night.
Dry, sunny conditions await if you’re traveling by plane, train or automobile to reach a Thanksgiving destination, according to the National Weather Service. Sunday highs will stay near 60.
Clear skies are in the forecast tonight with overnight lows around 55.
Maybe you’re going to be downtown for the Circle of Lights Friday. Low around 32. North wind 14 to 17 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 24 miles per hour.
Dry weather continues into Friday as a dynamic storm system takes shape to our west. Beginning Thanksgiving Day and continuing on Friday, heavier rain can be expected from central Texas northeast towards the Great Lakes.
Weekend weather looks cold with another rain storm possible late Saturday into Sunday.
A trace of precipitation (rain plus melted snow) was recorded at the airport, keeping the November total at 2.78 inches, 0.93 inches above normal.
The heaviest rain will be done with by Thursday evening, and we’ll just be left with some light precipitation overnight.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny. Daytime high temperature of about 57 degrees, nighttime low of about 43 degrees.
Saturday: Cloudy. High temperature of about 44 degrees, low temperature of about 34 degrees.
Through Thursday, the Front Range foothills could see 5 to 10 inches of new snow.
