Coldplay to honour past present and future at Super Bowl
In order to incorporate the past, the band has announced special guest, Beyonce, who performed the halftime show at the 2013 Super Bowl in New Orleans.

The iconic rock band belted out Start Me Up during their 2006 halftime show, which saw them perform on a stage that was built to look like the Stones’ lips logo.
The lineup for the 1980 halftime show – a salute to the Big Band Era with the youthful singing group Up With People – practically screams at anyone under age 50 to find something else to do.

The NFL begins planning its halftime show months in advance, negotiating with chosen artists and mapping out how things will proceed, said Mark Quenzel, NFL senior vice president in charge of the halftime show. He also revealed that Moses designed two pairs of shoes for him: one to wear at the press conference and one to wear during the halftime show. And lest anyone forget, Beyonce will join them on stage. In the early years, the music was provided by university marching bands while a Walt Disney parade was about as glitzy as it got.

Asked how they would fit 16 years of music into just 12 minutes, the frontman joked: “We decided we’d play all our No. 1s, and then work out how to fill the other 10 minutes”.
And admittedly, Martin was on point with his political humor, saying he felt like Donald Trump when looking at the adoring crowd and insisting Coldplay “won” the gig by campaigning for it a while back.
Lead guitarist Jonny Buckland, though, acknowledged the enormity of the show. We had a bus, a small bus.
It earned Martin a loud applause at the end of his comments.
“We don’t do press conferences that often so please forgive us if we are not that good at it”, said Martin.
