Coldplay to Perform at 2016 Super Bowl
In the most questionable football decision since the the Seattle Seahawks chose to throw on 2nd and Goal from the 1 yard line with 20 seconds left against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX, the NFL has chose to tap Coldplay as the halftime act for Super Bowl 50.
The group consisting of Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion will make its halftime show debut at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 7, said The Hollywood Reporter.
“The Super Bowl offer is a no-brainer for the band”.
The band has yet to release an official statement on the event. I know I am in a band that is famous and my private life is famous and it’s fine.
There will also be a “special guest” performing with Coldplay but their identity has not been revealed. “We are going to give it everything we have”.
Speaking of their upcoming date, frontman Chris Martin said: “We are so excited and honored and thrilled to be playing the halftime show”.
Coldplay has just released their seventh album, A Head Full Of Dreams, via iTunes today.

The 12-minute set became the most-watched TV concert in history, with 121 million viewers tuning in to watch – six million more than those who checked out Bruno’s Super Bowl performance in 2014. “It’s a place of unequalled grace, spirit and beauty and we can’t wait to play this show”.
And Mike Pache, from Scotsdale, Arizona, said: “Really not a fan of Coldplay doing the SuperBowl”.
The disco tone – anthemic, slightly cheesy – is there in the album’s first single “Adventure of a Lifetime” – the video of which was filmed in Andy Serkis’ Imaginarium studio – and the album’s title track. Also featured are Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher of Oasis and R&B legend Merry Clayton.
