Colin Kaepernick claims to have received death threats
I don’t want that to happen.
Kaepernick tells reporters he’s “not concerned” about the few he has received and that some of them have come through social media, and the rest via a “couple of different avenues”.
A recent poll that was conducted by E-Poll Marketing revealed that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is the NFL’s most disliked player in a poll that was taken last week and they asked 1,100 people whose demographics were representative of the general population. He recounting the death of the unarmed man, he said when the 40-year-old man was shot by a female police officer, no one bothered to check him or tried to save his life.
At least 44 percent of NFL fans said they would actually stop watching the games if the National Anthem protests continue, according to a new Yahoo Sports/YouGov survey.
But it seems Kaepernick did not bring the threats to the attention of his team.
“I want to make sure that not only am I transparent about what I’m doing but these organisations are transparent about where the money is going as well”, he said.
“This is a ideal example of what this is about”, said Kaepernick of Crutcher’s death.
“I think it will be very, very telling what happens with the officer that killed him, what happens with [her] because everybody’s eyes will be on [her]”, he said. “I find it very hard that people don’t understand what’s going on”. They walked around, went about their business and made up lies to cover up their murder that they just committed. Because a white player standing up for this, it’s like OK, ‘Well, now we really have to address this because it’s not just black people speaking out because they feel like they’re being attacked.
“One thing I have an issue with is people are really, extremely [ticked] off and mad about us kneeling and protesting peacefully”. And they’re not going to be able to be provided for the same way.
Kaepernick has announced an action plan for the money he pledged to donate to charity and foundations.
Kaepernick has dealt with getting booed and obscene gestures from fans in visiting stadiums since his protest became public August 26. “I think it’s huge and I think the more conversation continues between those communities, more and more solutions will come up on how to fix this and the best way to fix it as quickly as possible. That’s ultimately the goal”.
Should the Colin Kaepernick death threats be taken seriously?
