College football player’s act of kindness restores mother’s faith in humanity
But, Kinley’s goal for toys was a little different.
Happy birthday… Enjoy your dolly.
The teen asked about the doll that caught her eye and she pointed it out. He and the little girl exchanged a laugh and he walked off with the doll. Of course, the seemingly awkward gesture took Shufflebarger aback.
“He came up to her and started talking to her and asking her which one she liked and she was like, ‘I really like this one, ‘ ” Shufflebarger says.
The teenager then chuckled, plucked the doll, and walked off with it.
The young man asked Kinley what her favorite doll was.
Megan Shufflebarger of Kentland, Ind., was shopping at Target with her kids last week when they turned down the toy aisle to browse.
So proud to have such a caring and thoughtful young man on our team!
“He came back a few minutes later with the doll in the bag and a receipt and handed it to me and said “This dolly is for you”.
Shufflebarger went home and immediately set out to find the mystery man who made her daughter’s day. As a result, she adds, the boy has begun brainstorming ways that he too could help other people.
The young man, originally from Georgia, is a running back for Purdue.
Kinley’s mom wrote an Instagram/Facebook post about the random act of kindness praising the young man’s generosity saying, “What a reminder to never lose faith in humanity and to be generous and pay it forward”. According to her mom’s Facebook post, “She has slept with it every night since”.
Shufflebarger’s post, which has now been shared over 150,000 times, eventually connected her with the benevolent stranger, whose name is Tario Fuller.
A teenage boy who was browsing nearby overheard the little girl pleading with her mother and knelt down on the floor beside her.
College football players are known for being tough on the gridiron, but one player’s kind heart is generating a lot of buzz.
