College Professor’s Reaction to a 2-Year-Old Interrupting His Class Has Single
Amanda Osbon, single mom of the delightful 2-year-old you see above, is a student at DeVry University in Downers Grove, Illinois.
Osbon had no choice but to take her nearly two-year-old son to class with her on Monday.
Osbon said her son, who is nearly 2 years old, got up during class and wanted to be held by the professor.
A single mother says she had to bring her son to class with her – but she didn’t expect things to turn out like this.
To her surprise, Professor Joel Bunkowske picked her son up and continued to hold him as he taught the class.
Bunkowske told TODAY.com, “We know our students at DeVry have different needs and life circumstances, and at times we know they need extra support”.
“I’ve had a lot of supporters and people saying “Great job” to me and my professor, ” Osbon said.
Not surprisingly, the story, first reported by CNN affiliate WKRN in Nashville, has gone viral, with 10,000 people “liking” the story on WKRN’s Facebook page.
The social psychology professor continued with his lesson, holding the baby, who remained calm throughout the remainder of class.
Luann C.: So now a college classroom is a kindergarten as well?
Osbon is a U.S. Army veteran who is using the G.I. Bill to help pay for her tuition.
The mother, identified by local media outlets as Amanda Osbon, said Bunkowske was “amazing, patient and kind”.
“One person was giving him a snack, another person let him watch a video on her cell phone with the sound off”, said the former Army sergeant who served from 2005 to 2011.
