College teens held in death of ‘awesome little girl’
Nicole Lovell was a typical 13-year-old girl.
The pair of Virginia Tech students charged in the abduction and death of a 13-year-old girl made their first appearances in court Monday in Christiansburg, Va.
Police believe Eisenhauer and Lovell knew each other but their exact relationship is unclear.
Eisenhauer was allegedly traced through Lovell’s computer and placed under arrest.
Details about Keepers and Eisenhauer have started to emerge. No arraignment had been scheduled for Keepers as of Monday morning.
Acting on tips and social media, police were able to identify the suspect responsible for Lovell’s death as 18-year-old David E. Eisenhauer, a freshman engineering major at Virginia Tech.
The Facebook Page CBS News identified as Nicole’s shows she was a member of a handful of teen dating sites.

“Eisenhauer used this relationship to his advantage to abduct the 13-year-old and then kill her. Keepers helped Eisenhauer dispose of Nicole’s body”, a Blacksburg police statement said.
State police divers have been searching a pond on campus, but authorities would not say what they were looking for. Those who know the 18-year-old said they were shocked at the allegations.
Blacksburg police Chief Anthony Wilson told The Roanoke Times that Eisenhauer has not confessed and did not provide information that led to the body. He said investigators received tips.

Lovell was last seen Wednesday night at her home at Lantern Ridge Apartments in Blacksburg, according to police. Eisenhauer became the subject of the police investigation Friday and he was arrested Saturday, charged with abduction, the Blacksburg police said. Asked to describe the mood of the school, LeMon said teachers and administrators were trying to keep it “a normal school day” for students.

The school said in a statement Saturday that he has been suspended from the university. As a father, as well as Virginia Tech’s president, I want to reassure you that our community is supportive and resilient.
Eisenhauer was as a standout track and field athlete in high school, who was named Boys Indoor Track Performer of the Year by The Baltimore Sun in March. He declined to comment further.

Keepers volunteered in her free time at a Lutheran Church in Laurel, Maryland, according to Reuters, which cited a LinkedIn profile that appeared to match Keepers’ background.
