College unites in sea of purple to increase awareness
The event aims to raise awareness for Pancreatic Cancer.
Fylde MP Mark Menzies has said more must be done to improve survival rates of those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
He was joined by patients and relatives of those affected by the disease, as well as specialist nurses and representatives from Pancreatic Cancer UK. The objective of World Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day is to spread “more awareness and understanding about the illness among the public, medical community and government”.

In 2015 alone there will be more than 367,000 new diagnoses of pancreatic cancer. To be told you have pancreatic cancer is like seeing a scary movie play out before your very eyes. According to a recent worldwide survey, sixty percent of people know “almost nothing” about pancreatic cancer, and this group hopes to change that.
The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network estimates 134 Americans are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
