Collision closes I-5 north near Kent
All northbound Interstate 5 lanes at South 320th Street in Federal Way have been reopened after a brief closure Monday afternoon due to a multivehicle collision, according to tweets from transportation agencies.
The department warned drivers of standstills on alternative routes as well, such as Highways 512 and 167.
Q13 TV reports (http://goo.gl/J3DDgA ) several cars were involved in the crash causing serious injuries near South 272nd Street. At about 3 p.m. there were seven-mile backups in both directions of I-5 near Federal Way and Kent.
By 3:45 p.m., only the right lane remained closed, but traffic continued to move slowly through the area.

WSP says a auto traveling southbound crossed over int the northbound lanes and hit a auto head-on, then up to six other vehicles were hit. Alternate routes include State Route 18 or Pacific Highway South. There is no current estimate on when the freeway will reopen.
