Colts Are Attempting To Poach Abandoned Rams Fans In St. Louis
National Football League owners approved a proposal for the Rams to move from their home of the last 21 years, St. Louis, back to their previous residence in the Los Angeles area.
Four St. Louis Rams fans are suing the team over its move to Los Angeles, with a suit centering around the purchase of game tickets and team merchandise, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
If San Diego voters approve a financial package to build a stadium here, the Chargers’ Los Angeles option would be extended an additional year. Stadium construction is expected to be completed by the 2019 season. The NFL owners approved the move from St. Louis, despite the city’s proposal to build a new stadium.
If the Chargers don’t exercise the option by January, 2016, the Oakland Raiders would have the option to move to L.A. and become Kroenke’s tenant.
Fabiani also shot down a report that said Spanos was nearing an agreement with Rams owner Stan Kroenke on the framework of a deal to leave San Diego, calling it “overblown”.
“I will be working over the next several weeks to explore the options that we have now created for ourselves to determine the best path forward for the Chargers”, Spanos said following the owners’ vote Tuesday. In the lawsuit, Schaaf said taxpayer money is in the process of being spent illegally. “It’s bittersweet, too, because we were unable to get the facilities that we’d hoped for in their markets”.
“We can not wait to welcome the Rams and perhaps others soon, as they join a storied lineup of professional franchises, collegiate powerhouses, and sports media companies”. The Rams have an incredible amount of work to do before they can truly call Los Angeles home again.
“Let’s either commit to San Diego and work toward the goal there or commit to Los Angeles”, said the fourth-grade teacher in a phone interview Wednesday during a field trip to La Purisima Mission in Lompoc.
“You’ll always have some rams fans here but I think it’s going to have a negative impact on the price of their memorabilia and the value of their memorabilia in Southern Illinois”, added Fox.
The deal that is in place now gives the Chargers the option to join the Rams and enter the LA market in 2016 or 2017.
The question remains whether or not San Diegans will support Spanos should he decide to keep the Chargers in San Diego.
The Chargers, who have played in San Diego for 55 years, contend that 25 percent of their business comes from Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire. The Rams could practice there for a couple of months as they settle in and then move to another spot for the 2016 season.
Stolze said that the majority of the filing consists of statements made by Kroenke and Demoff themselves.
