Colts QB Luck out 2-6 weeks with lacerated kidney
The Colts announced on Monday that Luck will miss the next 2-6 weeks due to a kidney and abdominal injury suffered during Sunday’s win over the Broncos. The good news is he’s expected to make a full recovery and will not have to undergo surgery. Luck could be out from two-to-six weeks.
“It’s way too early to guess how long Andrew will be out”, Pagano released. “We’ll just continue to listen to our doctors and evaluate Andrew week-by-week, on a week-to-week basis”. Backup Matt Hasselbeck filled in and won a pair of starts in early October.
Veteran Matt Hasselbeck is set to start at quarterback, and Pagano is confident the 40-year-old can step up in Luck’s absence. After the a bye this week, Indy will face the Atlanta Falcons on November 22.
Hasselbeck will now get the nod under center. The kidney is like a capsule, so you can get a crack in it and then it depends on how big the crack is. He said Luck will not play until he’s healed and ready to go. Just give us your comments below.
“That was where the lion’s share of our work was going to be devoted in the building this week was that”.
Instead, they’re making another change – at quarterback. “The extra time obviously helps”.
RTV6 Sports Anchor Michael Grady says Luck’s latest injury may not be the death knell for the team’s season.
The Indianapolis Colts have had a slow season so far. “We’ve come through the fire before and we’ll come through this one again”. Andrew Luck has struggled most of the season, the team overall looks bad, and they ran perhaps the dumbest play in National Football League history.
Pagano admitted that the injury is a huge blow to the team. “We’ve been through a ton already this season and in the past, and we’ll get through it. We’ll get through it”. We all know that, and he’ll be back in the lineup at a few point.
