Colts Reportedly ‘Plan’ For Andrew Luck to Play Thursday Night

The game, which the Colts won 16-13, is the first time Luck missed a game in his entire career.

“When Andrew came over here this morning, and we woke up this morning, and he wasn’t quite there and didn’t have the arm strength and all of that stuff, we made a decision to go with Matt (Hasselbeck)”, said Pagano postgame Sunday.

Johnson has played in 29 National Football League games (starting five of them) and completed 96 of 177 passes for 1,042 yards, five touchdowns and 10 interceptions. The 40-years old quarterback finished the day with 20 completions on 47 attempts, 282 passing yards, one touchdown and no picks.

It wasn’t pretty but it was still a win and now the Colts are in first place in the AFC South with an even record (2-2).

“I thought they all played really well at the receiver position”, coach Gus Bradley said. He also called Hasselbeck “a true pro”, and he was happy to have him in the team.

With such a soft opponent in the Jaguars, it seemed a ideal storm for the Colts to be able to give Hasselbeck the go-ahead and have Luck on longer rest for the Texans. He sat out this week’s game against Jacksonville and his status for Thursday’s game against the Houston Texans is in doubt.

The Colts quarterback injured his shoulder in the team’s week three win against the Tennessee Titans.
