‘Comeback Kid’ Bill Clinton hits the campaign trail in New Hampshire
Republican candidate Donald Trump has labelled former President Bill Clinton the “greatest woman abuser of all time” as part of a savage attack against his wife and the Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.
Former President Clinton is set to headline a fundraiser Friday in Seattle to raise money for the campaign of his wife, Democratic presidential front-runner and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“We should not reward people who use inflammatory rhetoric, who use the kind of derogatory comments, whether it’s about Muslims, or Mexicans, or women, or people with disabilities, whoever it might be”, Clinton said in an interview with MSNBC on Tuesday. Yet, surprisingly or not, Republican frontrunner and real estate mogul Donald Trump does not agree.
He added, “America is a place that welcomes all people who are willing to treat other people like they want to be treated, willing to follow the law”.
Regarding a possible attack from Hillary Clinton on Trump’s economics or foreign policy, Trump said, “Now he would be fair game if he did something or said something having to do with foreign policy and other things that I would have disagreed with”.
“I think this election is about restoring broadly shared prosperity, rebuilding the middle class”, Clinton said.
Trump is not the only one taking aim at the Clintons; on Sunday, a heckler disrupted one of Hillary’s town halls in the Granite State.
“I don’t fit anymore”, he said.
“I’m a businessman. I contribute to everybody”, Trump said. “I’ll let him live in his alternative reality”.
He also took some subtle jabs at republican presidential candidates on Monday.
In a Twitter message posted in the lead-up to the Clinton presence in New Hampshire, the billionaire wrote: “The worst thing Hillary could do is have her husband campaign for her. Just watch”.
With primary contests in Iowa and New Hampshire now just a month away, the ex-president returned to the state that started him on his path to the White House in 1992 hoping to help Hillary Clinton win the New Hampshire primary.
Bill Clinton is considered by most to be an asset to his wife’s presidential bid.
A top aide, Christina Reynolds, said last week that Clinton will take on Trump when he attacks vulnerable groups, including immigrants. As for Clinton, he said the challenge was simple: “How do you keep them motivated when folks think this is in the bag?”
