Comedian Katt Williams arrested in Georgia
Stop us if you’ve heard this before, Katt Williams was arrested today.
The Gainesville Police Department arrested Williams on battery charges, after a clerk at a pool supply store told officers he was hit by Williams.
The funnyman reportedly became engaged in a verbal altercation with a worker at a pool supply store in Gainesville on Monday (29Feb16), when the dispute turned violent.
A store employee told officers that Williams, who was in the store with two women, began arguing with the employee and threw a pair of goggles at him, Holbrook said. He then supposedly went behind the counter, where he punched the clerk. When police attempted to question the comedian, “Mr. Williams was not forthcoming with any information”, Holbrook said.
The source of the argument wasn’t immediately clear. However, this isn’t his first brush with the law so that’s really no surprise here. In that incident, Williams stated later that the Target employee used the N-word toward him and that’s why he was slapped.
Williams is charged with misdemeanor battery and was held on $5,000 bond.
He and Knight face felony robbery charges after paparazzo Leslie Redden said Williams took her camera during an assault by two women under orders from Knight. Williams has pleaded not guilty.
