Comey Retains Ex-US Attorney Fitzgerald as Lawyer
Comey, fired by Trump a year ago, has likened the president to a crime boss who values personal loyalty over service to the country.
Clinton and her staff then tried to destroy all evidence related to that server. “We investigated leaks. Unauthorized disclosures”, Comey responded.
In another time, the people would have demanded that Clinton be prosecuted for violating national security. The law professor also served as a consultant to the Department of Justice and the Department of the Treasury on federal criminal matters.
Richman is a former federal prosecutor who served as chief appellate attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of NY, according to his Columbia staff page. He said, “Well, I had some sense of the nature and character of the new president of the United States. Really, grandpa?” Comey said.
‘Afterward, he returned only to get his things because they departed for NY by plane that same night’.
“The details matter because the facts matter, and should matter even to the President”, Comey explained, adding that he had chosen to classify some memos but not all of them.
The memos cover the Russian Federation investigations, the Steele dossier, transition politics, intel on various former administration officials of varying degrees of infamy, and of course Comey’s feelings about all of it and his feelings about having feelings about all of it.
In interviews, Comey has described Trump as obsessed with his own reputation – including allegations involving Russian prostitutes – and unconcerned with countering attacks from Russia.
[President Obama] held me back after one of the very last meetings I had with him, after the election, and said … “They start behaving in ways that are juvenile, and amateurish, and they swoon”.
Maybe it’s my decades at Agudath Israel, over which time I regularly witnessed (and continue to witness) decisions made on high principle attacked from opposite corners.
“I now think that I didn’t”, Mrs Clinton said. Increasingly, they perceive, I think, that President Trump isn’t being treated fairly. The FBI and New York Times had the memos for nearly a year.
“Candidate Trump was not the subject of an FBI investigation”, he said. Maybe in the heat of the moment he forgot why he fired Comey. “I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous”, Trump told Fox News. Meyers wasn’t shocked by Trump’s statement. “I don’t know what was in his head”. Comey answered. “I didn’t do the invites”.
But when his critics suggest he is hamming it up and spinning truth to sell books, they have a legitimate point. “I know you’re trying to do the right thing”. Alas, another man pushed over the edge by a demanding editor. Ryan, who covers the White House for American Urban Radio and is a CNN contributor, asked Sarah Sanders, the White House press secretary, “With all of this turmoil, particularly this last week, has the president at any time thought about stepping down before or now?”
