Comic-Con 2015: ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Trailer Hits The Web
“The Walking Dead” just introduced some fresh blood in the first trailer for Season 6. Click on to take a look…
Season 5 of “The Walking Dead” averaged 14.4 million viewers and a staggering 7.4 among the all-important adults 18-49 demo, making it TV’s highest-rated scripted series.
UPDATE with trailer shown in Hall H, more details: San Diego learned today that the prequel of a sort to The Walking Dead finally has a premiere date. In it, a terrified Nick (Frank Dillane) manages to escape (presumably from a Walker) a building and then legs it up the street…as you would!
The Walkers will also be a lot different than they have been in the main show.
One of the major perks of Wizard World’s 2015 Comic-Con is that we are treated to a heaping amount of information about everything in The Walking Dead’s universe. The idea behind the new series is to show what the world looked like as it was transforming into the apocalypse, rather than the aftermath. However, they aren’t necessarily aiming to line up with The Walking Dead’s premiere. From the trailer, we see everyone slowly begin to realize that the dead (undead) are walking among them and are pretty hungry.
Be sure to keep it here at Geeks Of Doom all weekend for our coverage of SDCC 2015. The 90-minute episode airs on October 11.
The tension in the show is that the audience knows that the zombie apocalypse is coming, but the characters in the show believe people are just sick.
He’ll need it: The trailer was dominated by scenes involving enormous zombie hordes in various states of decomposition, with Michonne (Danai Gurira) getting plenty of workout for her sword arm. The 16-episode series will air in two parts, with the first eight episodes launching October 11 and the second half premiering in February 2016.
