Complete Dance Lineup Revealed; Kramer, Savchenko
After fighting the flu over the weekend, Jana Kramer and dance partner Gleb Savchenko were eliminated from competition during the first night of the Dancing With the Stars finale on Monday night (Nov. 21).
Alright folks, dancing with the stars finals have set the stage off with its introductory version, and it’s time to celebrate. He earned the full 30 points for his Halloween Night Viennese Waltz with substitute partner Jenna Johnson, and another 30 in last week’s semifinals for his trio jive with Sharna Burgess (pictured above with Hinchcliffe) and Johnson. There will be live dancing and show-stopping performances at both The Grove and in the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom.
What the judges say: Julianne called it the flawless foxtrot, and Tom wondered if Sharna had ever seen a librarian look like she did.
While they only scored 35/40 points in the first round, their high-energy freestyle, which incorporated treadmills, was off-the-charts entertaining. She soldiered on, did a lot of high kicks and lifts and had to prep for a finale where she’s in the same breath as people who left 10 weeks ago. Len said that not only Calvin was entertaining, but also he could dance. The camera moved to the next couple Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko at dancing with the stars finals. Judge Len Goodman said the wonderful dance made him feel young again. He said, “They didn’t think I would live, but here I am” after an emotional and flawless contemporary freestyle in which Hinchcliffe wore an unbuttoned white shirt and white trousers.
While “Final Five” Olympian Hernandez has been a favorite all season long, Hinchcliffe might take the upset. The judges loved the power, intensity, precision and the shaping. He earned 37 for that dance but scored big time with his freestyle that earned a ideal 40. “So much energy you can send a rocket ship to the moon”, Bruno gushed. It’s hard to get better than that, and they earned a 40 as well.
Inspired by Hinchcliffe’s often-mentioned horrifying auto accident that almost took his life 18 months ago, the couple’s freestyle was set to “Beethoven’s 5 Secrets”, with additional audio featuring Hinchcliffe narrating the story of his own near-death experience and his will to survive. Len called the effervescent number choreographed to Ben Rector’s Brand New “a joyful experience to watch”. She became so confident and seemed so much happier toward the end of the season, and I think that Dancing With The Stars had so much to do with that. It’s been an incredible season and there is no denying that the final four couples will give it their all in hopes of winning America and the judges before the Mirrorball Trophy is presented on Tuesday night’s finale.
