Congressional GOP Divided Over Immigration, Some Willing To Work With Democrats

He recently lost some business support when he said that no one should have to sell their home to someone who’s gay.
Democrats believe Republicans are unpopular across the country and in particular here in part because of issues like immigration.
Gavin Newsom, the leading Democratic candidate for governor, has said that he would much rather face off against a Republican in November. “But unlike the Titanic, we might be able to save Leonardo DiCaprio before he goes under”.

Harris and Robert J. Mascia are listed on the ballot as the two candidates seeking to represent the local Democratic party in November election. The big question for Republicans is how silent, sheepish or apologetic will some candidates have to be in their embrace of Trump without hurting turnout among Trump voters?

Both President Clinton and President Trump have faced scandals during their tenure, in office and during campaigns, with the partisan switch reflecting that Republicans now view morality as a less important issue.
The 48th District is not the only place where Democrats’ glut of candidates has imperiled their chances. That’s because Democrats split their votes between too many candidates in the jungle primary, so the seat stayed in Republican hands even as President Obama easily carried the district that November. I assumed that a candidate who lied so casually and so often in the campaign would also do so as president; I just didn’t think he would literally utter 3,001 false or misleading claims in his first 466 days in office. If he makes it to the top two and they’re facing off against each other and there’s big donors who are willing to come in and help him make a real race of it, then the equation changes. And frankly, I don’t think Steve Knight’s doing anything on this.
Recent analysis from The Cook Political Report ranked the seat as a toss-up that could trend more favorably for Democrats if she wins in the primary.
