Conor McGregor and Nick Diaz to face lawsuit after chaotic press conference
MMA Fighting noted that the feisty Irishman weighed in at 168 lbs., that shows the results of his costly training that brought him and his team to Dublin, Iceland and to Las Vegas. MMAjunkie provides some pre-fight facts from the main event.
CONOR McGregor has done it again. “I wish for them, the UFC and the mixed martial arts community that they would act like the professionals they are”. Although he did not make much of the fight between former featherweight champion Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar.
It was only a matter of time, but trash-talking has begun for the upcoming Conor McGregor-Nate Diaz fight at UFC 202. It boiled over at this week’s press conference when McGregor appeared 30 minutes late. It ain’t nice. The highs are very, very high, and the lows are low.
“This is the game we are in”.
The Notorious One recalled the incident and said that the WWE superstars reacted to the incident as they had no idea how to react to being provoked by a “real man”.
For McGregor, who this time around has had plenty of time to prepare, this fight will serve as a shot at redemption.
Diaz, who was egged on my older brother Nick Diaz, left the stage while McGregor was answering a question to join his entourage in the crowd. Like, you know he’s going to say some insane stuff, and you think you’re prepared. Diaz won after just two rounds, getting McGregor in a “rear naked choke” and beating him by submission. “All the people on Conor’s side and Nate’s side are not allowed on the MGM premises”, White said.
There were further reports Friday morning of tickets being slashed for Saturday’s fight night at the new home of sport in Las Vegas.
Story is likely to go for the knockout in the first round, which he has done in the past, whilst Cerrone has suffered from that kind of onslaught before, but that’s something he can take into this fight.
It’s a huge moment for McGregor, and the tension has been evident.
And you can see he was still angry when asked about it at the open workout, later in the video.
